6 NET Scheme News Issue 48 Once Upon A Book ‘Tale’ It Forward Showcase Once Upon A Book Storytelling Outreach At the ‘Tale’ It Forward events, some of the winners from the KS1 and KS2 divisions of the Once Upon A Book Live Unplugged were invited to conduct live storytelling sessions (with the support of their teachers) at Sham Shui Po Public Library on 21 and 28 June 2025 to showcase their outstanding performances. It is heartwarming to see the journey from the OUB Storytelling Showcase videos to the numerous competition entries, and the resulting school and community events that have helped spread the joy of reading far and wide. We encourage more schools and students to join us on the journey next year! OUB Storytelling Competition Team, NET Section On 29 June 2025, a selection of entries from across the KS1 to KS4 divisions were invited to celebrate their performances with friends, family and the general public at the Once Upon A Book Storytelling Outreach held at the Event Hall of Citywalk 1 in Tsuen Wan. This community event was a joint effort between the Education Bureau (EDB) and the ‘Library-on-Wheels’ of the Hong Kong Public Libraries of the Leisure and Cultural Services Department (LCSD) to promote reading. It was also an opportunity for students to take to the stage in a busy shopping mall and showcase their storytelling skills and passion for reading.
